Rezultate ale implementării programului PHARE 2001 privind politica de dezvoltare regională a Regiunii 7 Centru din România

Abstract

This paper tries to critically assess the way in which the 2001 PHARE Program, by means of non-reimbursable grants, managed to contribute to the regional development policy of the Center Region (Romania) between 2000-2004. The paper comprises an overview of Romania’s Regional Development Policy and the structures involved in implementing this policy in reference to the Center Region. This brief overview focuses on a description of the region, its goals and its strategy. The paper analyzes the development goals and the strategic priorities set forth by the Regional Development Agency for the Center Region. The aim of this endeavor is to evaluate the accomplishment level of the proposed strategies. The final part of the paper assesses the achievements of the projects contracted by Center Region from 2001 PHARE Program and some recommendations are made to attain the proposed objectives.
