Universities and Third Mission: Considerations from an Italian Perspective

Abstract


The article explores the ‘Third Mission’ of univer­sities, focusing on public engagement, knowledge transfer, and innovation to address social and eco­nomic needs. It discusses challenges in evaluating these activities and highlights Italian universities’ ef­forts to integrate this mission into strategic planning for regional development and societal well-being.
