Activități de mentorat în administrația publică
Abstract
Mentoring represents one important feature of civil service training in many administrative systems. Most often, mentoring means that one person who has a greater experience is sharing his knowledge (that is usually more complex than just technical expertise) with a person who is, from a certain point of view, at some kind of new beginning in an administrative position. The knowledge that is transferred may consist of patterns and channels of communication, networking, advocacy, and many more. In Romanian public administration, mentoring is not a common practice, but one can find it in the Romanian police force. It is a process that aims to ensure better-trained police officers in the service of the citizens. The article presents this mentoring process and analyzes its challenges.
