Abstract
Public consultation is an essential principle of participatory democracy. This article aims to present the ways in which public consultation is used by local public administrations in Romania in matters of major interest, but also in the adoption of normative acts. The article will also analyze the legal framework applicable to the public consultation procedure and provide a practical analysis on the application of the principle of public consultation by the municipality of Cluj-Napoca.
