Abstract

Organizational culture has become one of the most important aspects of organizational ma-nagement. It is so important for the organization’s success that big multinational organizations spend tremendous resources (especially fnancial) to build and maintain a culture that translates into perfor-mance and effciency, one that allows the organiza-tion to be fexible and able to permanently adapt to a rapidly changing environment. There has been a lot of progress and research in this area in private orga-nizations but not so much in the public sector, very few in universities and almost none in Romanian universities. This paper tries to answer some ques-tions about the organizational culture of Romanian universities (Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca) using Kim Cameron and Robert Quinn’s Competing Values Framework.
